About the venue
The race venue, Holme Pierrepont Watersports Centre is 135 km from Hull ferry port, 340 km from Dover ferryport and Channel Tunnel. 265 km from Harwich to race. Direct route by motorway. No tolls. Campsite 200 metres from the lake, hotel directly by the lake. The campsite also has small chalets to rent. There is a large house/chalet that sleeps 11 people directly by the lake.
We plan to finish racing in plenty of time for the Hull ferry users to return to their ferry.
The lake has a gravel sloping bank and so no backwash. On the right side of the course will be a long pontoon to prevent waves affecting the course. We plan to have the course laid out by GPS mapping.
