Urgent Appeal: Help Keep the MPBA Alive!
The Model Power Boat Association (MPBA) urgently needs volunteers to fill key MPBA committee vacancies. With our 2026 AGM taking place on 29th November, we need members to step forward to help secure the future of our 102-year-old association.
Two essential positions must be filled: General Secretary and Membership Secretary. Without people willing to take on these responsibilities, the MPBA may be unable to continue operating and could be forced to fold.
MPBA Committee Vacancies: How You Can Help
You don’t need previous committee experience or all the answers on day one. Help, guidance and support will be available, and you won’t be expected to take on everything alone.
Our existing National Executive Committee (NEC) members are already covering multiple roles. To keep the association running smoothly, we need more members to share the workload.
The current vacancies include:
- General Secretary: An essential role in the administration and running of the association.
- Membership Secretary: A key role in supporting our members and maintaining membership administration.
- Radio Scale Section Representative: This section currently has no representative.
- Fast Electric Section Representative: Currently covered alongside the International Secretary role.
- Year Book Editor: A vacancy outside the NEC.
Help Keep the MPBA Running
The MPBA has supported model power boat racing for 102 years. We want to continue that proud tradition for existing members and future generations, but we need people willing to get involved.
If the General Secretary and Membership Secretary positions remain unfilled by or at the AGM on 29th November 2026, the MPBA may have no option but to cease operating. We sincerely hope it won’t come to that.
Please don’t assume someone else will step forward. Could you be the person who helps protect the future of our sport?
If you are interested in any of these MPBA committee vacancies, please contact a member of the NEC to find out more about the responsibilities and support available. Even if you’re unsure, have a conversation with us before ruling it out.
102 years of history. A future worth protecting. Let’s keep the MPBA going — together!
